Anson taught himself to read and write.

One time when Hazel was a little girl Anson took her to his room and got out a trunk with baby clothes and gave Hazel a little red flannel jacket for a new baby, tiny sized. Probably had shrunk. It had been Nathan's who had died
    in infancy.

Julia's father's name was George Albertson and he was involved in the war of 1812. Hazel Abrams knows he was a charter member of the FM church in Verona.

    Respectable and Godly man.

    ---------------------------------------------

There seemed to be a lot of shame attached to the name Timmerman.

This is probably why: George came from a very good family, but he had left home as a young man because he had taken up with a girl who maybe had a baby. We're not just sure if that was it, but in any case, she didn't meet their
standards. Nan knows her name but can't remember.

This child became "problem relatives" who lived in the area.

His brother, Parker Smith Timmerman, saved face for the rest of them.

Before she married the Timmerman she had a baby whose last name was Smith.

    Bill & Watt Smith (Walter?)
