29 | Arch always called them M?am and Pap in the German style Anson taught himself to read and write. One time when Hazel was a little girl Anson took her to his room and got out a trunk with baby clothes and gave Hazel a little red flannel jacket for a new baby, tiny sized. Probably had shrunk. It had been Nathan's who had died in infancy. Married Julia Albertson who was spiritual/ godly, to a degree that left an everlasting imprint on her children. Julia's father's name was George Albertson and he was involved in the war of 1812. Hazel Abrams knows he was a charter member of the FM church in Verona. George's wife was a Catholic and apprently was a wonderful woman. She had a family alter. Nan has his picture. Somebody did it for her 80th birthday -- an old tin type Respectable and Godly man. The whole Timmerman name, had no respect in nan's area. This disrespect was justified since one family member had a lot of illigitimate children. | Timmerman, Anson (I220)

42 | Darlings originally came from the province of Hess in Germany, members went to England, became soldiers and were sent to America during the rebellion of the colonies against England. When the war ended they stayed in America as British Subjects and then came to Canada, and were given land grants as United Empire Loyalists. The Darling homestead was at the head of Loughborough Lake. A home was built and the family lived on the farm while the father continued his Army service. Life was very rugged, and the father walked home from Kingston every two weeks bringing supplies, sometimes carrying a hundred-pound sack of flour. He would cut wood and make sure the family was comfortable until he next returned. They had a cow, dog and some hens, these all had to be housed at ni ghts as there were many wolves. Eight boys and two girls were born at the homestead, all married and went their separate ways. Two of the sons, Avory and Charles, bought adjoining farms at Buck Lake. | Darling, Samuel (I182)
