Thoughts and Reflections on Scripture

The last few days have been a little challenging for me. I mean, right now I feel fine, but I moped around the house for a day or two.

Why? Well, I guess I don't handle conflict very well. As the Psalmist says in this Psalm, number 120: “I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.”

So there are people in my life who seem bent on my destruction. Or at least that's how it seems. They're probably more concerned about themselves and how they look, but the conflict has been challenging, and tiring, and it's hard not to despair.

I'm the kind of guy that really wants to get along with people. But at the exact same time, I'm the kind of guy that tends to confront people when they do something I perceive to not be right.

Not a great combination.

So Sunday night, as I was trying to decide which of the remaining 41 Psalms I should put to music, I was drawn to this one. Not only did it fit my situation, but it seemed appropriate for Lent.

God is working on me. I've got a long way to go, I know, but I also know that he faithful to complete that which he started!
