On a quest to find my home
Journeyed to the mother Ireland
On that Island far away,
how it longs to find it's lost
So I came to meet my need
Found it in the hills of Ireland
Found it on the rocky shore,
And then Ireland found me.

for the heritage I've come to owe

For my father said goodbye
Rigid man on barren soil,
Living hard, yet hardly living
Said goodbye, and ne'er looked back
Set his sail for distant shores
Living on such cruel clay,
Couldn't help by harden also
So his root was gnarled stone,
And on this he built his clan.
