It Is Good to Give Thanks (Psalm 92) (3:57)
Album: Love the Psalms, Volume 6

by Jason Silver (played 81 times)

Lyrics

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
To sing praises to your name, O Most High;
To declare your steadfast love in the morning,
And declare your faithfulness in the night,
To the music of the lute and the harp,
To the melody of the lyre.

For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
At the works of your--your hands I sing for joy.
How great are your works, O Lord!
Your thoughts are so very deep!

The brute cannot know, the fool can't understand:
Though the wicked sprout like grass, the evil grow,
Forever doomed to destruction,
But you're on high for ever.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
To sing praises to your name, O Most High;
To declare your steadfast love in the morning,
And declare your faithfulness in the night,
To the music of the lute and the harp,
To the melody of the lyre.

Your enemies, Lord, your enemies shall die;
All evildoers shall be scattered away.
But you've exalted my horn;
Anointed me with fine oil.

My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
And my ears have heard cries of my defeated foes.
The righteous grow like tall trees,
Flourish in the courts of God.

Even in old age they bear fruit;
Full of life, they proclaim that the Lord is upright,
He's my rock, and there is no unrighteousness
In him.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
To sing praises to your name, O Most High;
To declare your steadfast love in the morning,
And declare your faithfulness in the night,
To the music of the lute and the harp,
To the melody of the lyre.
