There Is a God Who Judges the Earth (Psalm 58) (2:38)
Album: Love the Psalms, Volume 4

by Jason Silver (played 52 times)

Lyrics

Are you truly just, you rulers?
Do you judge the people fairly?
No, in your hearts you devise wrongs;
And your hands deal out violence on the earth.

The wicked go astray from the womb;
Erring from their birth, speaking lies.
Poison like the venom of a serpent,
Who refuses to be calmed by the charmer.

O God, break the teeth in their mouths;
Tear out the fangs of young lions, Lord!
Let them vanish like water on sand;
Let them be trodden down like grass and wither.

Let them be like snails in slime;
Like stillborn babies: never see sun.
Sooner than pots feel the heat of thorns,
The green or dry, may he sweep them away!

The righteous will rejoice
When they see vengeance done;
They will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.
People will say, “It's true,
“There's a reward for good;
“Yes there's a God who judges on earth.”
